Prayeradox: The Right To Bear Arms

Choose your own theological adventure. Click the triangle beside the stance that speaks to your soul—or, if you’re feeling brave, the one that challenges it. No need to click them all (unless you are willing to open with an open mind). Either way, take what you need and leave the rest. May your deity be with you.

The Holy Calibration (Pro-Gun Control)

Oh Lord, Defender of the Defenseless,
Have mercy on those who believe safety comes from paperwork,
who trust criminals to obey laws,
who mistake control for protection.
Let them understand that self-defense is a right, not a privilege,
that good people must not be left helpless,
and that sometimes, Lord,
the best deterrent is a loaded prayer.
Amen.

The Sanctified Second Amendment (Pro-Gun Rights)

Oh Lord, Defender of the Defenseless,
Have mercy on those who believe safety comes from paperwork,
who trust criminals to obey laws,
who mistake control for protection.
Let them understand that self-defense is a right, not a privilege,
that good people must not be left helpless,
and that sometimes, Lord,
the best deterrent is a loaded prayer.
Amen.

The Holy Path to Common Ground (Just A Prayer)

Oh Lord, Keeper of Life and Liberty,
Grant us the wisdom to uphold rights
without excusing recklessness,
to pursue safety
without demanding helplessness.

Let laws be strong enough to deter harm,
yet just enough to guard freedom.
Let those who bear arms do so with care,
and those who seek protection find it,
not in fear, but in responsibility.

For strength without wisdom is peril,
and liberty without caution is folly.

Amen.
